ONE of the biggest stage in every National Football League season takes center stage on Sunday in Honolulu, Hawaii.
The much awaited Pro Bowl pitting the brightest stars in the NFL AFC Division against the NFC All Stars will finally happen back on its orginal island home.
After bringing the Pro Bowl, the All-Star event in NFL in Miami last year, the NFL executives this year decided to bring back the game in Hawaii.
Drawing 12.3 million viewers last year, the Pro Bowl is one of the most watched and highly anticipated events in professional football.
This year’s match-up will once again be exciting and thrilling to NFL fans all over the globe.
However this year’s game will less stellar and star studded since no Pittsburgh Steelers and Green Bay Packers on the field or the sidelines.
This developed since these players are getting ready for the Super Bowl in Arlington, Texas, on Feb. 6.
It was learned that there are 10 Pro Bowl selections in the Super Bowl, including six Packers.
Last year, Pro Bowlers who were in the Super Bowl were introduced at the stadium but didn’t play.
Despite the absence of some of the brightest names in NFL football the AFC-NFC games still promises to be a slam-bang affair to all professional football fans around the world.
This year, Atlanta Falcons coach Mike Smith will coach the NFC All Stars will have nine of his players in the NFC selection this year.
The AFC on the other hand will be mentored by New England Patriots coach Bill Belichick who will have eight of his players in this year’s AFC roster.
The AFC-NFC game will be considered an even game for the two teams where anyone is very capable of winning against each other.
The team that have the heart and desire to win in-front of the adoring fans of the NFL will most likely win this year’s Pro Bowl event.

Steelers ready to reach Super Bowl, end upset run of Jets

The Pittsburgh Steelers is fully motivated to win and end the upset run of the New York Jets when they face each other on Sunday night in the AFC Championship game.
Having a better record at the end of the NFL regular season, the Steelers are picked to prevail over the sixth seeded Jets who surprised the world with their strong showing in the NFL playoffs.
Lead by Ben Roethlisberger aka Big Ben the Steelers (13-4) barged into their fourth AFC championship game in his seven years in the league.
The Steelers barged inside the AFC championship after its dramatic win against the Baltimore Ravens.
Two turnovers helped carry the Steelers in a 21-7 hole, but Roethlisberger led it back.
The two-time Super Bowl winner threw two third-quarter TDs to tie the score, and then completed a 58-yard pass to rookie Antonio Brown on third-and-19 late in the fourth, setting up Rashard Mendenhall’s score to punctuate a 31-24 victory.
To beat the visiting Jets, Big Ben needs to give his A-game and stop the upset done by the visiting team against some of the elite NFL teams.
The 6-foot-5, 241-pound Roethlisberger is much bigger and has more experience than Jets rookies quarterback Mark Sanchez.
To defeat the Jets, Big Ben needs to overpower Sanchez and create awesome plays for his team against the visitor.
Aside from Big Ben, Emmanuel Sanders and Mike Wallace also needs to speed up their game to tow the Steelers to victory over the Jets.
Moreover, All-Pro safety Troy Polamalu, must also step up his game to help the Steelers against the Jets.
The Steelers is 31-8 with Polamalu in the lineup since 2008 and 6-7 without him.
The underdog Jets for their part has a huge chance of beating and upset the home-team Steelers if young quarterback Mark Sanchez continuous with his solid game in the NFL playoffs.
Sanchez is 4-1 on the road in the postseason, and his playoff passer rating is 92.2 – 22.0 higher than in the regular season.
If Sanchez can play solid and not be dominated by Big Ben there is a huge chance for the Jets to beat the Steelers.
Having beaten some of the top teams in the NFL this year, the Indianapolis Colts and New England Patriots, Jets rookie coach Rex Ryan has no reason from stopping until they take the Super Bowl crown.
Ryan said his team is fully motivated to beat the Steelers and barged into the Super Bowl against either the Green Bay Packers of Chicago Bears.
He said if his team will play as a team and execute their game-plan well there is no reason they will not win against the Steelers.
With the Super Bowl appearance as reward, the Steelers-Jets game promises to be a slam-bang affair to all professional football fans all over the world.

Jets-Patriots face-off on Sunday night NFL playoff game

THE NEW York Jets hopes for another upset win when they visit the New England Patriots lair on Sunday night in the ongoing National Football League playoff race.
The visiting Jets who earlier defeated the Indianapolis last week, hope to gain another NFL playoff victory against the very tough Patriots team.
Coming into their game, the Jets is the huge underdog in their game since the home-team Patriots has won eight straight games through the heroics of Patriots superstar quarterback Tom Brady.
Despite their underdog tag, Jets coach Rex Ryan is still very determined of beating the Patriots and gets the chance to fight for the Super Bowl crown this year.
Ryan said their perennial rival the Patriots is a tough team to beat but he and the rest of his team are very determined to beat them and shown the world they are a far better team than them.
To beat and upset the Patriots second year quarterback needs to play hard and not allow Brady to dominate him.
Sanchez who played great in the team’s win against NFL AFC champion Indianapolis Colts needs to score and execute great play for his team to defeat the Patriots.
To pull an upset the Jets also needs to play tough defense and do their best to stop or slow down Brady.
The home-team Patriots for its part can avoid an upset and defeat if Brady can once again have a solid game for his team.
According to the NFL data, Brady has won 28 consecutive regular-season home starts since a loss to the Jets in 2006, and had been 8-0 at home in his postseason career prior to last season, when he and the Patriots lost 33-14 in a wild-card matchup against the Ravens.
If Brady and the rest of his team can score big and play tough defense in the game there is no reason for them to lose against the Patriots.
The 2010 is one of the best years for Brady as he finished the season with 36 touchdown passes and four interceptions – the last coming against Baltimore in Week 6.
Since then, he’s thrown an NFL-record 335 consecutive passes without getting picked off.
Brady is very confident of their chances in the game as he vowed that he and his teammates will give it their all come game-time.

The visiting Packers for its part can pull an upset if Aaron Rodgers could outplay Ryan or have an explosive night against the Falcons.
Rodgers must to his to execute well for his team to bring victory to the Packers against the Falcons.
Packers rookie running back James Starks, who set a franchise rookie playoff record by rushing for 123 yards, must also continue to play great for his team
The sixth-round pick ran for 101 in three regular-season appearances.
Packers coach Mike McCarthy said his team might be the underdog in their game but they will do their best to outplay and beat the Falcons come game-time.

Patriots poised to get its 12th win in game vs. Packers

The New England Patriots is favored to win its 12th win in the current National Football League season when they play host to the undermanned Green Bay Packers on Sunday evening.
Sporting an impressive 11-2 record, the Patriots are fully motivated to win their game against the Packers so that they will have the chance to clinch the AFC East title and a first-round bye in the forthcoming NFL playoffs.

To defeat the mighty Patriots, Packers back-up quarterback third-year backup Matt Flynn, who went 15 of 26 for 177 yards and an interception in relief last week, need to play superb in his first career start in Rodgers’ place.
If Flynn can produce solid numbers against the Patriots chances of victory against the Patriots is not remote for the Packers.
The Patriots might be playing without its leader in Rodgers, the team still needs to give its 101 efforts since winning against the home-tea, will further boost their quest for the wild-card spot in the playoffs.
Getting the chance to get a wild-card slot will not be easy for the Patriots as the team host the New York Giants and the Chicago Bear in the final two weeks of the current NFL season.
To boost the morale of the team as they fight for a wild-card slot, the Packers needs to play as a team to defeat the heavily favored Patriots.
Getting an upset victory against the Patriots is still very possible if the Packers will just have to focus themselves on winning and play superb come game-time.

Childress firing could make or break Vikings

THE DECISION of the Minnesota Vikings to fire head coach Brad Childress could have a positive or negative result on the performance of the team in the ongoing National Football League season.
Standing at a 3-7 win-loss record, the decision of the management to fire Childress after five NFL seasons with the team could motivate the team to play even harder in the current NFL season.
The move to fire Childress could compel the players to work even harder to improve the standing of the team and get the chance to compete in the NFL playoffs and even play in the Super Bowl this year.
The Vikings management earlier decided to fire Childress for the woeful record of the team and his failure ill-advised decisions that resulted to team turmoil and losses in the 2010 NFL season.
Childress went 40-37 with the Vikings, including 1-2 in the playoffs. He was all in with Favre, riding his incredible 2009 season to the NFC championship game and then going down this year under the weight of his struggles to regain that rhythm.
With the firing of Childress, defensive coordinator Leslie Frazier  will take over the head-coaching job for the team in the remainder of the NFL season.
Frazier said he will do his best to bring back success to the team in their remaining games this year.
The newly designated head coach added Viking superstar quarterback Brett Favre will continue to be the starting quarterback of the team until his retirement after the end of the current NFL season this year.
While the outlook for the Vikings remains uncertain in the remainder of the NFL season, many hopes especially the fans of the team the move could lead to wins for the team as give them a slot in the NFL post season games.
The Vikings management wish their decision to fire Childress could eventually result to a positive note for the team in the 2010 NFL season.
